Knee

Most of the structures around the knee are superficial and easily identified.  Diagnostic ultrasound quickly and non-invasively gives important information regarding tears, partial tears, calcific lesions, and tendonopathy.  This then allows for quicker determination of appropriate treatment - NSAID's, physical therapy, injection, or surgery.  Ultrasound has also opened the door for the use of OrthoBiologics, like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) as a non-surgical treatment.
